In November 2022, ChatGPT was made available to the general public, and it quickly rose to popularity among those who were intrigued by the potential and capabilities of artificial intelligence. The natural language artificial intelligence tool has made it easier for cyber-criminals to initiate adversarial cyberattacks.
Recently, cybercrime forums are awash with ChatGPT-created content – from a convincing phishing email to Javascript that can be used to potentially steal PII (Personally Identifiable Information). The long-term consequence of this phenomenon means that the offensive and defensive sides will use the tool to gain an advantage themselves.
